Popular rapper Ivan Greko is being brought before the court today following his new arrest on Saturday night in Glyfada, once again facing legal troubles. Criminal charges were filed against him yesterday for the misdemeanor of receiving proceeds of crime, and he has been referred to stand trial at the Athens Single-Member Misdemeanor Court.
Ivan Greko’s arrest occurred during a police check when officers stopped the vehicle he was driving. Two other individuals were also in the car. During the inspection, as revealed by the police investigation, there was a complaint of embezzlement regarding the specific vehicle, which immediately led to the rapper’s arrest. Additionally, police discovered that one of the passengers was in possession of a small quantity of narcotics. However, according to reports, the rapper’s friend was subsequently released.
This new arrest comes just months after the serious kidnapping case of a 24-year-old businessman in Ilioupoli, in which Ivan Greko was involved. At that time, he was arrested and held in custody. Subsequently, by decision of the judicial authorities, he was released and placed under house arrest with electronic monitoring (ankle bracelet). According to an announcement by his lawyer, Petros Pantazis, this restrictive condition ceased to be in effect just a few days ago, making his new arrest particularly close in timing to the removal of electronic surveillance. The well-known rapper was brought to justice through the summary trial procedure, with developments in the case expected immediately.
