Only a few months have passed since the Greek police shut down and arrested two administrators of groups that were “exposing” traffic police roadblocks on Viber. New groups have emerged after less than two months, and they once again number tens of thousands of members. Traffic violators share information with each other about where police roadblocks have been set up, so they can avoid them.
In these groups, as shown in the video, detailed descriptions are provided with references to exact locations, accompanied by voice messages, photos of patrol cars and police officers conducting the checks, and even “pins” on Google Maps or similar satellite mapping applications. This allows drunk drivers, speed limit violators, and generally those exhibiting antisocial behavior that puts others at risk to escape the long arm of the law.
