The nephew of a camping site owner in Finikounda and his businessman friend are being brought to Kalamata courts today to testify after their arrest for moral complicity in the double homicide. According to the indictment drafted by the case investigator, the 33-year-old, together with his Athens businessman friend and employer of the two alleged perpetrators of the murder, planned the heinous killing in order to inherit his uncle’s estate, valued at €30 million.
According to reports, the charges against the two new defendants by the investigator were based on evidence from call analysis of “Pakistani” phones allegedly used by those involved in the case, while judicial authorities now believe the 22-year-old accomplice is the actual perpetrator of the crime.
Finikounda: Authorities tracking third suspect in Germany
An arrest warrant has been issued for another person accused of complicity in the crime. The suspect, wanted by Interpol, is believed to be in Germany, where local authorities are attempting to locate him for extradition to Greece. For their part, the two new defendants deny any involvement in the homicide and are expected to maintain this position in their testimony to the Kalamata investigator.
Meanwhile, the investigator has reportedly brought two more people into focus, examining whether they knew about or helped organize the crime. These include the accused nephew’s partner, who appears in video footage leaving six minutes before the gunman entered the camping site, and whose mobile phone was allegedly used for the first call after the crime, when the 33-year-old nephew contacted the employer of the two 22-year-olds. The second woman under investigation appears to belong to the 33-year-old nephew’s extended family circle.
