Dramatic scenes unfolded in Chania, just before the airport, during violent clashes between riot police and farmers. At the height of these confrontations, which involved tear gas and flash grenades, farmers overturned a police patrol car. It’s worth noting that they broke through police blockades, forcing riot police to retreat to the airport. Simultaneously, in Heraklion, farmers entered the airport runway, resulting in flight delays and cancellations. Police intervened and made 15 arrests, with charges filed for criminal organization.
