New evidence is coming to light regarding the fatal car crash in Loutsa where a car driven by a 29-year-old “crashed into” the vehicle of a 24-year-old and fatally injured him at midnight on Saturday (29/11). It’s worth noting that the 29-year-old who caused the tragic accident in the center of Loutsa, after his reckless drive with his vehicle, was proven to be intoxicated. Although the initial breathalyzer test the driver took came back negative, toxicological examinations revealed that he had consumed alcohol above the legal limit, specifically his blood alcohol was 0.63 grams/liter, while the limit is 0.50 grams per liter.
According to Mega’s sources, the 29-year-old has previously admitted to being a cocaine user. This new element gives a new dimension to the case, as it appears that on the fatal night he was driving not only under the influence of alcohol but also under the influence of drugs, resulting in him completely losing control of his car.
Tomorrow (03/12) the results of the toxicological examinations are expected to determine whether the 29-year-old had indeed used narcotic substances in combination with alcohol consumption.
Moreover, the 29-year-old, who in the past had been arrested for theft, drug possession and his involvement in a traffic accident in Vravrona, is expected to give his testimony tomorrow morning.
“I believe he doesn’t even have a license”
Meanwhile, people who knew the 29-year-old as well as eyewitnesses to the dramatic events spoke to Live News, describing a wild and violent young man toward his family, who often fought and created incidents.
“I believe he doesn’t even have a driver’s license to begin with. The car wasn’t even his. It might have belonged to a friend of his. Because even his mother didn’t know where he got it from. What I know is that he was always running around with his friends. They would come pick him up, go out, and he’d return,” said a friend of the 29-year-old.
As she mentioned, the perpetrator had been involved in a series of tensions and incidents in recent years. He didn’t seem to mature with the passage of time.
She continued: “Generally wild, violent toward his parents. We often heard, almost every day I’d say, them shouting at each other. He fought with his parents every day. He asked for money. He borrowed too. He had tried to work but would quit. Never continued. He had even thrown a garbage bin. He threw the bin down the slope in his anger. He also broke furniture in his house, televisions etc. In his rage he had gone outside his house and was throwing knives in the air and cursing.”
The 29-year-old, who is expected to give his testimony tomorrow (03/12), was captured on cameras making dangerous and illegal overtaking maneuvers, losing control and his vehicle initially hitting a parked car and then crashing uncontrollably into four people who were getting out of their car.
