The conversations between Spyros Martikas and the alleged leader of the casino “investors” crime ring, who has now been remanded in custody, reveal additional aspects of what was happening more than a year ago, when the pharmacist and his then-partner were seeking ways to recover the money they had lost.
Casino “investors” ring: New dialogues – The “ball” passed to the leader by the deputy
In a series of dialogues obtained by Live News, Spyros Martikas’ anxiety to find a way for Briseida Andriou to be paid back is evident. To get back the money she had entrusted to him.
According to what the model tells her close circle, he had assured her that she would not suffer financial losses in order to convince her.
– Martikas: Please do something because the girl also has a problem. The girl is going crazy.
– Leader: The girl got money, she told me.
– Martikas: The girl didn’t get a single euro.
– Leader: Didn’t she get money from the (deputy)?
– Martikas: Not a single euro.
– Leader: Are you serious? Nothing?
– Martikas: Do you want me to call her to confirm it?
– Leader: What you’re saying is very serious.
This was the time when Briseida Andriou had lost 50,000 euros to members of the criminal organization. The days when Spyros Martikas seemed to be trying to understand what was true from what he was hearing. The ring leader was trying to shift all responsibility to the deputy leader.
– Martikas: The only lump sum was 10,000 that he gave to Briseida. Together with the 10,000, it’s 33,000 that he gave to Briseida five days after the incident.
– Leader: Dude, aren’t there 50,000?
– Martikas: Are you okay? If it were 50,000, I wouldn’t be calling you…
– Leader: Let me ask you something else, Spyros, now. We shouldn’t be saying this over the phone, but listen. Did you at some point talk to him and threaten him?
– Martikas: No, I didn’t threaten him. I have the messages to send you screenshots. I tell him ‘give me my life back’. He tells me ‘I have nothing to give you’. And I tell him ‘is that your final word?’
– Leader: I’m trying to find a solution and I understand there’s some scheming going on, which to put it differently makes no sense. Because I gave money, friend. I’ll say it in front of the (deputy). I gave 50,000 and you know who I gave it for? For Briseida.
– Martikas: Where is that money? He hasn’t given it to her.
– Leader: I gave it for Briseida.
– Martikas: So he has 50,000 for Briseida and hasn’t given it to her?
– Leader: When we meet in front of you, I’ll call him.
But the truth was completely different, as Briseida Andriou describes to her circle. Despite promises and assurances, she never got back the 50,000 euros she had invested.
“Hang up the phone and have a good year”
Spyros Martikas’ communications and messages with high-ranking members of the criminal organization continued for months. Even last New Year’s Eve, when the pharmacist made yet another attempt.
– Martikas: I want you to be well. I want to wish you the best for the new year. We haven’t talked because I don’t want to bother you. The only thing I ask and beg of you and the (deputy) is those 70,000 that you said ‘give them so we can finish this’, to save my life and I promise you the moment you give them to me I’ll immediately post a story hugging you saying you’re the best people I’ve ever met.
– Leader: Yeah f*** off, I’m telling you it’s over. Hang up the phone and happy new year.
Spyros Martikas claims he found himself trapped, without the financial ability to return the money to his then-partner. Briseida Andriou reportedly decided not to take legal action against her former partner. As she says, she now works 3 and 4 jobs to make ends meet.
Revelations about the criminal organization’s activities continue, with a series of images and conversations shedding more and more light over time on what was happening behind the victims’ backs.
