The electronic platform “myΘέρμανση” opens on Monday, November 10, 2025, for submitting applications for the heating allowance 2025–2026, according to ertnews. The first payment, corresponding to 60% of the total amount, is scheduled for mid-December, while subsequent payments will be made gradually until July 2026. Payments will continue according to the schedule through summer 2026.
The payment of the allowance will be made electronically to the bank account (IBAN) declared on the myΘέρμανση platform, which will be available within the next few days. Applicants will register their personal details, such as tax number, full name, and the electricity supply number of their primary residence. They will then select the type of fuel or energy form to be subsidized, whether it’s heating oil, natural gas, LPG, wood, pellets, district heating, or electricity.
Before finalizing the application, a bank account IBAN is required, where the beneficiary is the primary or joint account holder, so the allowance amount can be credited.
Heating allowance beneficiaries
Eligible participants include single individuals, married couples, widowed persons, as well as single-parent families or persons with cohabitation agreements, provided they meet the income and asset criteria. The allowance covers heating for the primary residence, regardless of whether it’s owned or rented, and covers consumption of heating oil, natural gas, LPG, firewood, pellets, district heating, or electricity.
For married couples or those with cohabitation agreements, the beneficiary is the person obligated to file a tax return or one of the two, if they file separate returns.
Subsidy amounts for beneficiaries
The heating allowance amount starts from 100 euros and reaches up to 800 euros, depending on income criteria. For residents of areas with particularly low temperatures, such as Kozani, Elati, Papigo, the amount increases by 25%, reaching up to 1,000 euros.
In even colder areas, such as Metsovo, Nevrokopi, Velouchi, Nymfaio, Pertouli, where the climate coefficient is equal to or greater than 1.2, the allowance increases by an additional 25%, reaching up to 1,200 euros.
