myHeating platform: When it opens
The ΑΑΔΕ electronic platform myHeating will be operational within November. Interested households will have a deadline until early December to complete their applications. The government has scheduled the payment of the first installment before the Christmas holidays.
Budget and beneficiaries of the heating allowance
Environment and Energy Minister Stavros Papastavrou announced that a Joint Ministerial Decision will be issued by the end of October, in cooperation with the Ministry of National Economy. The total budget amounts to €200 million, which will be distributed to 1,200,000 citizens.
The first payment will correspond to 60% of the total allowance, with amounts ranging from €100 to €800, depending on each household’s income criteria.
Increased amounts for areas with low temperatures
Residents of mountainous and cold areas will receive increased financial support. Specifically:
• Areas with a climate coefficient greater than or equal to one (such as Elati, Papigo, Kozani): 25% increase with a maximum limit of €1,000
• Areas with a climate coefficient greater than or equal to 1.2 (such as Metsovo, Velouchi, Nymfaio, Nevrokopi, Pertouli): additional 25% increase with a maximum limit of €1,200
Requirements and documents for the heating allowance
For households to be eligible, they must meet specific requirements. Applications are submitted exclusively for the main residence, while beneficiaries are natural persons of all family statuses.
The allowance covers various types of fuels and energy: internal combustion oil, kerosene, natural gas, LPG, firewood, biomass, district heating and electricity. For married couples or cohabitants, the beneficiary is considered the person obligated to file a tax return or one of the two in case of separate filing.
