In 2022, heating oil distribution started at 1.62 euros per liter, in 2023 at 1.31 euros, and in 2024 at 1.18 euros per liter. According to Akis Skertsos, this year “each household saves at least 530 euros per 1,000 liters” compared to 2022.
New regulations for heating oil receipts
As a reminder, heating oil distribution began yesterday under new guidelines issued by the Independent Authority for Public Revenue (AADE) to retailers and consumers. The guidelines regarding heating oil distribution concern how heating oil purchase receipts should be declared. Under the new system, heating oil purchases will be declared automatically through the myDATA platform rather than the HEPHAESTUS system where they have been registered for years, in order for eligible recipients to receive subsidies. However, to ensure necessary cross-checks are conducted and heating subsidies are paid without interruption, AADE announced that sales receipts must include specific data for identifying eligible recipients.
Specifically, the sales receipt data transmitted to AADE by petroleum product trading companies must include, regardless of transmission method:
-
Tax identification number (TIN) of the counterparty (heating oil purchaser),
-
Fuel code and quantity (fuel codes “30-Diesel Heating” and “31-Diesel Heating premium”), and
-
Electricity supply number (of the heating oil purchaser).
As a reminder, receipts are transmitted to AADE through two methods:
-
Via Electronic Document Issuance Service Provider on the myDATA digital platform, or
-
Via Fiscal Electronic Mechanism (FEM) in the e-send Information System.
Finally, it should be noted that:
-
For receipts transmitted via Electronic Document Issuance Service Provider on the myData digital platform, selecting the “Heating Subsidy” indication is mandatory, and
-
The myHeating platform offers the ability to verify electricity supply number validity. Upon successful verification, the postal code of the supply address is returned.
