The Independent Authority for Public Revenue (AADE) held an informational seminar on customs simplifications, during which tools and digital applications that facilitate imports and exports, reduce bureaucracy, and enhance the competitiveness of Greek businesses were presented. As stated by AADE President Giorgos Pitsillis, “the authority’s steadfast commitment is supporting legal trade and healthy entrepreneurship”.

He continued by saying: “For this reason, we place particular emphasis on establishing and implementing customs simplifications that enhance the extroversion and competitiveness of Greek businesses, promote manufacturing and export trade, and strengthen the trust relationship we have built with the business community”.
During the informational seminar, presentations were delivered by General Director of Customs & Excise, Dimitris Bourikos as well as by experienced executives of the authority, who thoroughly analyzed the benefits and possibilities offered by customs simplifications. AADE’s announcement notes that through the extensive organizational and digital transformation of the Customs Service, AADE has achieved significant progress in customs procedures.
Greek businesses now benefit from:
* Special licenses for facilitating commercial procedures:
- Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) license: Offers faster customs clearance, reduced guarantees, and international recognition.
- Simplified procedures license for export regime: Accelerates customs clearance and VAT refunds, with the possibility of processing at business premises.
- Approved Exporter license: Facilitates transactions with more than 50 third countries.
* Digitization of procedures:
- Submission of import and export declarations exclusively digitally, serving more than 80,000 traders.
- Digitized export finalization, with automated notification for confirmation of goods exit.
* Enhancement of international trade:
- Digitization of customs warehousing regimes.
- Wide operation of customs bonded warehouses.
- Upgrade of Free Zones at the country’s major ports.
