The total number of registered unemployed in the Greek Employment Agency registry reached 795,588 people in July this year, of which 426,724 (53.6%) have been registered for a period equal to or more than 12 months and 368,864 (46.4%) have been registered in the agency’s registry for a period of less than 12 months.

Detailed breakdown of registered unemployed in July 2025
In detail, according to the registered unemployment statistics in the Greek Employment Agency registry:
- Men total 247,143 people (31.1%) and women total 548,445 people (68.9%).
- The 30-44 age group has the highest number of registered unemployed among age categories, totaling 253,364 people (31.8%).
- Secondary education level has the highest number of registered unemployed among education levels, totaling 359,845 people (45.2%). It should be noted that secondary education includes post-secondary education.
Among the country’s regions, Attica and Central Macedonia record the highest number of registered unemployed, totaling 282,275 people (35.5%) and 159,424 people (20.0%) respectively.
The total number of subsidized unemployed for July 2025 (referring to the number of beneficiaries paid within the corresponding month) amounts to 110,948 people, of which 104,211 (93.9%) are general unemployed and other categories of subsidized unemployed, and 6,737 (6.1%) are seasonal tourism professionals. According to the current administrative procedure, the first payment is made 37 days after the unemployment benefit recipient’s registration.
Men total 42,287 (38.1%) and women 68,661 (61.9%). Of the total subsidized unemployed, 94,984 (85.6%) are general, 1,734 (1.6%) are construction workers, 6,737 (6.1%) are seasonal tourism professionals, 950 (0.9%) are other seasonal workers (agricultural), 6,486 (5.8%) are educators, and 57 (0.1%) are others.

The total number of registered unemployed for July 2025 reached 795,588 people, recording a decrease of -53,014 people (-6.2%) compared to the corresponding month of the previous year (July 2024) and an increase of 41,263 people (5.5%) compared to the previous month (June 2025).
The number of subsidized unemployed for July 2025 reached 110,948 people, recording a decrease of -28,176 people (-20.3%) compared to the corresponding month of the previous year (July 2024) and an increase of 14,312 people (14.8%) compared to the previous month (June 2025).
