Another step closer to a more sustainable and resilient island Greece marks the start of funding with resources from NSRF (National Strategic Reference Framework) for the development of Local Action Plans on 39 small islands of the country, within the framework of the strategic GRecoIslands initiative.
What it covers
With a decision by the Deputy Minister of National Economy and Finance, Nikos Papathanasis, the integration of the relevant action into the NSRF 2021-2027 was approved, with a total budget of approximately 1.5 million euros. The action concerns islands with a population of 100 to 3,500 inhabitants, integrated into the Regions of North Aegean, South Aegean and Ionian Islands. The action provides for the creation of detailed plans for energy transition, sustainable resource management, environmental protection, green entrepreneurship, digital transformation and strengthening of human resources for each island.
