The deadline for submitting timely tax returns for the 2024 income of taxpayers concluded at midnight last night. For the first time, the tax return submission systems opened on the dates mandated by law: March 14, 2025 for legal entities and March 17, 2025 for individuals.
Thanks to timely preparation by all involved parties, this year recorded new submission records for both individuals and legal entities.
Individuals
- A total of 6,706,091 individual income tax returns were submitted on time, representing 162,238 more returns compared to 2024. These returns correspond to over 8,914,700 individuals, compared to 8,636,700 individuals who submitted timely returns last year. On average, 52,803 returns were submitted daily, compared to 65,439 returns last year, demonstrating that this year’s process was even smoother. It’s worth noting that 12,059 returns concerned deceased persons’ income and were submitted digitally through new functionality implemented for the first time in early July.
- 1,323,294 returns were pre-cleared, offering beneficiaries the ability to finalize their returns by simply confirming the pre-clearance data. Of these, 739,576 returns were submitted automatically, while taxpayers needed to file amended returns for only 212,930 pre-cleared returns.
Legal Entities
- 362,682 timely returns were submitted compared to 337,718 in 2024, recording an increase of nearly 25,000 returns. The daily submission rate this year was 2,790 returns, compared to 3,344 returns last year. Additionally, for the first time this year, legal entities were given a 130-day submission period, compared to 101 days last year.
Presumption Challenges
- Of the total 381,276 individuals taxed under presumptions, out of 729,958 sole proprietorships, only 2,603 expressed intention to challenge the presumptions. Similarly, for tax year 2023, 4,358 individuals had expressed intention to challenge, representing a 40% decrease.
