The number of registered unemployed individuals in the Public Employment Service (DYPA) registry decreased by 58,633 people (-7.2%) compared to the same month of the previous year in June 2025, with the total number reaching 754,325 individuals. Specifically, the total number of registered unemployed in the DYPA registry in June 2025 reached 754,325 people, recording a decrease of 58,633 people (-7.2%) compared to the corresponding month of the previous year, June 2024, and an increase of 13,319 people (+1.8%) compared to the previous month, May 2025.
DYPA: The number of subsidized individuals for June 2025 reached 96,636 people
Additionally, the number of subsidized individuals for June 2025 reached 96,636 people, recording a decrease of -8,738 people (-8.3%) compared to the corresponding month of the previous year, June 2024, and a decrease of -30,097 people (-23.7%) compared to the previous month, May 2025.
According to DYPA’s registered unemployment statistics, out of the total 754,325 people, 424,867 (56.3%) individuals have been registered in the DYPA registry for a period equal to or longer than 12 months, while 329,458 (43.7%) have been registered for less than 12 months. Men account for 240,397 people (31.9%) and women for 513,928 people (68.1%).
The 30-44 age group concentrates the largest number of registered individuals among age categories, totaling 235,764 people (31.3%). The secondary education level concentrates the largest number of registered individuals among educational levels, totaling 346,613 people (46.0%).
Among the country’s regions, the Attica region and the Central Macedonia region record the highest number of registered individuals, totaling 263,873 people (35.0%) and 152,113 people (20.2%) respectively. The total number of subsidized unemployed for June 2025 (referring to the number of beneficiaries paid within the corresponding month) amounts to 96,636 people, of which 88,209 (91.3%) are common unemployed and other categories of subsidized unemployed, and 8,427 (8.7%) are seasonal tourism professionals. Men account for 40,424 (41.8%) and women for 56,212 (58.2%).
Out of the total subsidized unemployed, 84,870 (87.8%) are common unemployed, 1,963 (2.0%) are construction workers, 8,427 (8.7%) are seasonal tourism professionals, 880 (0.9%) are other seasonal workers (agricultural), 437 (0.5%) are educational staff, and 59 (0.1%) are others.
