The process of submitting tax returns for individuals for the year 2024 is underway, and after the extension announced by the Independent Authority for Public Revenue (AADE), the final deadline has been moved from Monday, July 15 to Monday, July 21, 2025.
Tax returns 2025: Deadline expires
The decision was made following a relevant request from the Economic Chamber of Greece and in response to technical problems that occurred in the submission system, mainly regarding corporate tax returns. Specifically, as noted by AADE, recent days have seen delays and difficulties in platform operations, especially during peak hours.
Consequently, additional time was granted, which according to AADE is sufficient for the smooth completion of the process, aimed at facilitating both accountants and taxpayers, both individuals and legal entities.
Based on data from early this week, for corporate returns, fewer than 25,000 declarations remain. In the individual taxpayer sector, over 6,413,000 returns had been submitted by early this week, compared to 6,543,853 recorded in 2024 during the same period.
Record levels
Daily submissions reached record levels, according to data from the previous week, with more than 10,600 corporate returns being registered daily and over 80,000 individual tax returns per day. These numbers are considered satisfactory, confirming AADE’s assessment that the time frame until July 21 is adequate.
