The turnover of the country’s businesses increased by 5.4%, for companies required to maintain double-entry books and for which monthly data is available, in May this year, reaching 33.020.528 thousand euros, compared to 31.336.365 thousand euros in May 2024.
Business turnover up 5.4% in May
According to the Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT), the largest increase in turnover in May 2025 compared to May 2024 was recorded by businesses in the Mining and Quarrying sector (46%), while the largest decrease was recorded by businesses in the Other Service Activities sector (1.7%).
Museum visitors increase 3.8% in March
Additionally, a 3.8% increase was recorded in the number of visitors to the country’s museums in March this year compared to the corresponding month of 2024, while there was also an increase in free admission visitors by 29.3% and in revenue by 126.6% (due to pricing policy changes).
In the first quarter, compared to the corresponding period of 2024, there was an increase of 4.1% in visitors, 12.9% in free admission visitors, and 59.3% in revenue.
According to ELSTAT, at archaeological sites in March 2025 compared to the corresponding month of 2024, there was an increase in visitors by 3.3%, in free admission visitors by 1.3%, and in revenue by 33.1%.
In the first quarter, compared to the corresponding period of 2024, there was an increase of 3.4% in visitors, a decrease of 1.1% in free admission visitors, and an increase of 23.1% in revenue.
