The price of American crude oil approached $100 per barrel again today (April 9), amid uncertainty over the ceasefire developments between Iran and the United States, as well as due to continued shipping disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz.

After a significant decline the previous day, when it closed at $94.41, American WTI crude for May delivery recorded a strong recovery of 5.83%, reaching $99.91 around 15:05 (Greek time), while earlier it temporarily exceeded the psychological threshold of $100. North Sea Brent crude oil for June delivery recorded a 3.67% increase, reaching $98.23.
