Following statements by Donald Trump about Iran, saying they had “positive and constructive” talks, the price of oil dropped by approximately 10%. European stock markets also recorded strong gains: Paris +2.45%, Frankfurt +3.24%, London +0.52%.

It should be noted that just minutes ago, Donald Trump announced that the US had “positive and constructive” talks with Iran and that he will order the American military to postpone any attacks against Iranian power generation stations and other energy infrastructure in Iran.
Specifically, at 11:20 GMT (13:20 Greek time), the price of Brent for May deliveries fell by 9.63% to $101.30 per barrel, after the price had temporarily dropped by 14% earlier.
At the same time, the price of US West Texas Intermediate for May delivery was down 9.39% at $89.01.
Dramatic shift in Athens stock market as well
The change of scenario is equally dramatic in the Athens stock market. The General Price Index at 13:30 stands at 2,096.95 units, recording a gain of 1.56%. Intraday it recorded a fluctuation of 110 units. It registered a lower price at 1,998.09 units (-3.19%) and a higher price at 2,107.68 units (+2.08%). The value of transactions amounts to 141.73 million euros.
The large-cap index records a gain of 1.48%, while the mid-cap index declines by 0.23%.
Among large-cap stocks, the biggest gains are recorded by Eurobank shares (+4.39%), Piraeus (+3.68%), Alpha Bank (+3.37%), and National Bank (+3.35%).
Conversely, the biggest declines are recorded by Motor Oil shares (-3.31%), Hellenic Petroleum (-3.06%), Elvalhalcor (-2.00%), and Aktor (-1.57%).
The highest trading volume is shown by Alpha Bank and Piraeus, moving 6,477,943 and 4,151,433 shares, respectively.
The highest transaction value is recorded by Piraeus with 27.95 million euros and Alpha Bank with 19.69 million euros.
33 stocks are moving upward, 71 are declining, and 10 remain stable.
The biggest gains are recorded by: Xylemporia(p) (+9.01%) and Austriacard (+5.07%).
The biggest declines are noted by: Proodeftiki (-5.03%) and Ave (-4.66%).
