“Every November they will receive €250 net, beyond their pension and any other benefit they are entitled to,” emphasized Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis regarding low-income pensioners while announcing the implementation of the measure. Specifically, the Prime Minister, speaking about the Finance Ministry’s bill regarding “the reform of the fiscal management framework,” emphasized that every November, low-income pensioners, citizens with disabilities, and uninsured elderly will receive €250 net beyond their pension and anything else they are entitled to.
Additionally, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, in the context of announcing economic measures, noted that primary residence tenants and students throughout Greece will receive every November one monthly rent payment up to €800 to help them cope with their fixed expenses.
Who is eligible for the €250 benefit
The €250 benefit will now be given on a permanent basis to low-income pensioners, people with disabilities, and uninsured elderly, with income and property criteria. Specifically, every year, by November 30, €250 will be deposited into the bank accounts of beneficiaries, and this money will be tax-free and unseizable.
The beneficiaries are:
- e-EFKA insured individuals over 65 years old, with family incomes of €14,000 for unmarried and up to €200,000 total real estate property value, and €26,000 for married couples with total property of €300,000. The support benefit covers 1,157,551 people.
- Elderly uninsured pensioners, numbering 34,357 people.

If both spouses are eligible, both receive it. The financial support is tax-free, non-transferable and unseizable by the State or third parties, by derogation from any other contrary provision, is not bound and is not offset against certified debts to the tax administration and the State.
