Optimistic messages are coming from the restaurant market in Attica on Grilled Thursday, with activity peaking at taverns and establishments specializing in meat. The president of the Athens Restaurant and Related Businesses Union, Giannis Daverwnis, speaking to parapolitika.gr, mentioned that occupancy rates were moving at very high levels until yesterday.
As he said, “activity in restaurants until yesterday was touching 80%-85%,” while today – according to the picture conveyed by professionals – “all establishments are expected to be full by evening,” with occupancy rates reaching 100%. He clarified, however, that the increased traffic mainly concerns taverns and establishments that focus on meat, which “have their moment of honor today,” as he characteristically noted.

Regarding prices, Mr. Daverwnis emphasized that “prices move around 25 to 35 euros per person on average, usually with house wine.” In case of choosing bottled wine, the final amount increases noticeably.

Asked about the delivery company strike, he clarified that the market can operate normally, as citizens have the option to go to the establishments themselves and pick up their food.
