Finance Minister Kyriakos Pierrakakis, in a social media post, discusses salary increases of up to 300 euros per month for large families and young people with concrete examples. In a video he posted, Mr. Pierrakakis emphasizes that, starting today, the tax relief measures announced by the Prime Minister at the Thessaloniki International Fair are now reflected in the salaries paid today to approximately 1 million private sector employees. “For large families, we zeroed the tax. For young people under 25 years old, we zeroed the tax. A parent with many children who earns 1,800 euros salary per month will see a 300 euro increase in their account today,” the minister states, in selected excerpts from his interview given today on SKAI television station.
Kyriakos Pierrakakis: His social media statement
“I’m not here to tell you that somehow magically all problems have been solved. The era of one law, one article and all these things I think has passed – with expensive lessons learned. Whether it’s a state, whether it’s a family, whether it’s any company budget, we all know we have limitations. Do you do the best you can? You know what you do? This is what we will be judged on,” he emphasizes.
Mr. Pierrakakis, commenting on the political situation, underlines in his statement: “I don’t believe that this country’s destiny will be written by protest parties, because it never has been. It will be written by governing parties. And it will be written by what they have to say and, mainly, by what they have to do. Because people no longer need many words either.”
