Applications for the heating allowance are moving above the 1 million mark, having reached 1,067,686 by Tuesday afternoon, with only two days remaining until the deadline expires on December 5. The majority of applications, approximately 71%, concern subsidies for heating oil, followed by electricity and other fuels. More specifically, applications for heating oil subsidies amount to 766,748, while those for electricity subsidies reach 300,838.
The heating allowance ranges from €100 to €800, and for areas of the country with very low temperatures, it can reach up to €1,200. The advance payment will be disbursed on December 23 and will amount to 60% of the total sum for applicants who received heating allowance in the 2024-2025 period, while for new beneficiaries it will be 50%, with a minimum amount of €80.
To qualify as a beneficiary, one must meet the following income and property criteria:
- Income up to €16,000 for single persons and €24,000 for couples, with an increase of €5,000 per child.
- For single-parent families, the limit amounts to up to €29,000 and increases by €5,000 for each child after the first.
- Gross income from business activity must not exceed €80,000.
- Real estate property value (based on ENFIA 2025) up to €200,000 for single persons and €260,000 for married couples or single-parent families, with an increase of €40,000 per dependent child.
Heating allowance: How to submit applications and required information
To secure the heating allowance, households need to know the following:
1. Applications are submitted electronically through the myHeating platform on the myAADE digital portal, following the path Applications > Popular Applications > myHeating, using TAXISnet credentials.
2. The application must declare information such as:
– The tax identification number of the applicant – tax return obligated person.
– Their full name.
– The number of their dependent children.
– Indication if it concerns an apartment building.
– The electricity supply number of the main residence property.
– The postal address corresponding to the specific electricity supply, whether the residence is owned, rented, or provided free of charge, as well as the tax number of the lessor or free provider.
– The square meters of main areas of the primary residence at the time of application submission.
– The type of desired subsidized heating fuel or electrical energy or thermal energy.
– The applicant’s contact details (email address, mobile or landline phone number) are taken as declared on the myAADE digital portal.
3. Before finalizing the application, the beneficiary’s IBAN must be declared, where the allowance will be credited.
4. The allowance covers purchases of heating oil, blue kerosene, natural gas, LPG, thermal energy through district heating, or electrical energy, for purchases made from October 1, 2025, to March 31, 2026. Specifically for heating oil, purchases are calculated from October 15, while for wood and pellets from June 1, 2025. Note that each beneficiary is subsidized for only one type of fuel.
The allowance payment dates are as follows:
– By December 23, 2025: advance payment and payment for purchases with invoices up to November 30, 2025, with data entry by December 5.
– By May 29, 2026: payment for fuel purchases (or pellets and wood) up to April 15, 2026, provided they have been declared by April 30, 2026.
– For natural gas and district heating, an additional payment will be made by July 31, 2026.
