Having already recorded a 15% increase in total revenue and just before the launch of intensive flights to “fresh” destinations, SKY express is taking delivery of another new aircraft (Airbus A320neo), bringing its fleet to 29 aircraft. With an average age of just 3.8 years for the Airbus neo category, it remains the only company with the youngest aircraft fleet in Greece, as well as the fastest-growing company in the country.
Additionally, it is preparing to offer attractive discounts to passengers (indicatively 30%-40%) for flights to Madrid, Lisbon, Hamburg, Berlin and Lyon, strengthening its increasingly “prominent” presence in the international market.
Impressive 15% revenue surge for SKY Express with 25% increase over six years and market share from 2.5% in 2019 to 12% in 2025 at Athens airport
According to SKY express management, this year is expected to be equally strong, as it is estimated that approximately 5.5 million passengers will have traveled with the Greek carrier. As for international passenger traffic, it has already recorded a 33% jump, with available seats increased by 34% compared to the corresponding period last year. The same climate applies to passenger traffic at Thessaloniki airport regarding direct domestic flights, with a 5% increase.

During this period, the new direct flight to Düsseldorf is also launching, strengthening Northern Greece’s connectivity with strategic foreign markets.
We remind that SKY express’s success is a rare case, as in 2019 it had only a 2.5% market share at Athens airport and today it approaches 12%, maintaining a significant position in both domestic and international markets, with an impressive overall 25% growth over six years.
Engine reliability and 20% lower fuel consumption with the new Airbus A320neo
The new Airbus A320neo features comfortable leather seats, integrated USB ports, 50% smaller noise footprint and state-of-the-art CFM LEAP-1A engines, which offer 20% lower fuel consumption and 20% lower CO₂ emissions compared to the previous generation.
This specific engine type is considered much more reliable, helping to avoid problems during high-traffic periods, as observed in the recent past in international aviation, with major airlines forced to ground their aircraft or reduce their flights.
“For us, every new aircraft is more than an investment. It is a commitment to the passenger and the environment,” commented Giorgos Lioumpis, General Manager of SKY express, emphasizing that SKY express is a company that does not compromise and evolves with consistency.
