The EuroLeague, Europe’s premier club basketball competition and the biggest season of all time, is preparing for tip-off with the first “devil week” on Novasports!
This season will be even more thrilling, even more spectacular with a total of 20 teams competing across 38 regular season games before advancing to the playoffs and ultimately the Final Four, which will be hosted in Athens after 19 years at the Telekom Centers Athens from May 22-24, 2026.
The season begins on September 30 with the “devil week“ (the first of 10 total to be held) and the Greek teams, Panathinaikos AKTOR and Olympiacos, facing major derbies. The seven-time European champion coached by Ergin Ataman hosts Bayern (Sept 30, 21:15) and Barcelona (Oct 3, 21:15), while the three-time European champion coached by Giorgos Bartzokas starts in Spain against Baskonia (Sept 30, 21:45) and Real Madrid (Oct 2, 21:45).
The other major basketball competition, the EuroCup, also tips off on September 30, and this season Greece will be represented by Aris Betsson and Panionios, who return to European competition after 11 years. The Thessaloniki team travels to Venice (Sept 30, 21:00) and the “blue-reds” host Niners Chemnitz (Oct 1, 19:30) in the first round of EuroCup action.
At the same time, Novasports presents “Taste of Europe,” a new mini-series of episodes. The worlds of sports and food meet in some of Europe’s most vibrant cities, featuring a guest star from the basketball world. In tonight’s episode (Novasports Prime 23:15), Panathinaikos center Mathias Lessort will be the guest, and in the next episode on Monday, October 6, Anadolu Efes power forward Vincent Poirier.
