The inauguration of the new children’s playground at the Youth Park of Nea Erythraia took place on Monday, September 15, 2025. Specifically, the children’s playground was completely reconstructed, with full floor replacement and installation of brand-new, certified playground equipment, transforming the space into a modern and aesthetically pleasing recreation point for children and their guardians. The project was implemented with sponsorship from SEAJETS and Mr. Marios Iliopoulos, while the ceremony was blessed by the presence and blessing of the Most Reverend Archimandrite Father Athanasios Detsikas, in the presence of Mayor Mr. Vasilis Xypolytas. Given the historical significance of the 1st Elementary School of Nea Erythraia, in front of which the new children’s playground is located and which stands as a living symbol of the journey of Asia Minor refugees, emotion was evident throughout the ceremony. This is a project that was realized thanks to the harmony between the Mayor of Kifisia – Nea Erythraia – Ekali Mr. Xypolytas and the selfless love of Mr. Iliopoulos for the area, who envisioned and implemented it. The Mayor of Kifisia, Mr. Vasilis Xypolytas, stated: “Today we deliver a space of joy and creativity for our children, which will host thousands of smiles. We warmly thank Mr. Marios Iliopoulos, who through his actions shows his love for Nea Erythraia and his support for our Municipality”.
The Head of Strategic Planning & Development of SEAJETS, Mr. Marios Iliopoulos, characteristically stated: “Refuge is not only memory, it is creation, vision and strength that brings achievements. Nea Erythraia is a place that carries heavy history, and that’s why we stand beside it with actions. Children’s playgrounds are not just play spaces, they are the symbolic ‘starting point’ for young children to cultivate talents and dreams, to develop values in our children, away from excessive technology and close to family, sports and principles”.
As Mr. Iliopoulos noted, other sponsorships and renovations of sports facilities in Elementary Schools, Middle Schools and High Schools of Nea Erythraia will follow.
