On Saturday, September 6, 2025, 28 doctors from 13 different specialties traveled to Alonissos and volunteered their services, providing a total of 390 examinations to adults and children who would otherwise have to travel to mainland Greece to access specialized medical care. The Alonissos Elementary School hosted a fully equipped mobile unit team with the necessary medical equipment and specialized doctors covering 13 specialties: gynecology, pediatrics, orthopedics, cardiology, dermatology, neurology, endocrinology, pulmonology, ophthalmology, dentistry, orthodontics, nephrology, and vascular surgery. With a shared vision of strengthening healthcare on the island, through a spirit of cooperation and action, SEAJETS, Marios Iliopoulos, and the Municipality of Alonissos joined forces to implement a significant healthcare initiative launched on Saturday 6/9 that will continue in the future.
This initiative was also supported by the Foundation of Health Workers of Love of the Holy Metropolis of Dimitriados and Almyros, as well as medical, dental, and pharmaceutical associations of Magnesia. SEAJETS is consistently committed to strengthening island communities and improving the daily lives of their residents. By enhancing Medical Prevention, Care, and Solidarity, SEAJETS remains a supporter of initiatives that bring specialized healthcare closer to the residents of Greek islands.
Mr. Marios Iliopoulos, Head of Strategic Planning and Development at SEAJETS, who traveled to Alonissos, stated: “My presence here today is a sign of respect, love, and support for the residents of Alonissos. SEAJETS always stands by island communities not only with its ships, but also with substance and actions that make and will make a difference. Prevention and access to quality healthcare are fundamental values for everyone, and we are proud to have contributed to making them a reality for the people of Alonissos. Our commitment remains to unite our islands and support local communities in their needs. Health, Education, Sports, and Culture are our priorities and should be the priorities of every government worldwide”.
