The Hellenic Public Properties Company (ETAD), a subsidiary of the National Development Fund, has signed a lease agreement for the iconic “Asani” building in Corfu with the company “KONTOS CONCREATE A.T.E.”, paving the way for the restoration and revitalization of a property of exceptional architectural and cultural significance.
The lease runs for thirty years, with an option to extend for an additional ten years, securing the property’s long-term development prospects. The tenant has committed to implementing a major investment program for the restoration and renovation of the building.

The “Asani” is a six-story building of historic significance, with a total area of 867.40 square meters, standing prominently on the central Town Hall Square in the heart of Corfu’s old town. The property lies within the unified archaeological zone of Paleopolis and the old town of Corfu, which is included on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
The development of the historic “Asani” building is part of ETAD’s broader strategic plan to activate properties of special cultural value and reintegrate them into the economic and social life of the communities where they are located.
As ETAD’s Managing Director, Ms. Iro Chatzigeorgiou, stated: “With the signing of this agreement, the ‘Asani’ now enters a new era, with the goal of restoring, upgrading, and reopening an iconic building at the heart of Corfu’s historic center. It is our priority to develop landmark properties that require significant intervention, with the aim of preserving and showcasing the cultural heritage and distinctive architectural character of each region.”
