The first 15 interns have begun their internship at Papastratos, marking the launch of a paid internship initiative that will ultimately welcome 100 participants as part of FutuReady Greece — the company’s new five-year platform developed to coincide with its 100th anniversary. In this first cycle, participants — final-year students and recent graduates from 8 Greek universities — will be integrated into 14 different teams across Papastratos, gaining hands-on experience in a wide range of company functions, from Human Resources, Commercial Management, Business Operations, and Marketing, to Corporate Affairs and Communications, Finance, and IT.

Papastratos: Emphasis on artificial intelligence and modern skills
For a period of up to six months, the new interns will take part in the day-to-day operations of their respective departments, working alongside experienced company executives on demanding projects. This will allow them to gain practical experience across different areas and functions of Papastratos, as well as knowledge that will serve them throughout their professional careers. Alongside their daily interactions with teams and company staff, participants will receive ongoing guidance from mentors and take part in training activities designed to develop both professional and digital skills.

Particular emphasis is placed on skills aligned with the modern demands of the job market, including familiarity with artificial intelligence, critical thinking, business acumen, and teamwork. The program is hosted at Papastratos’ facilities in Aspropyrgos under a hybrid work model, and participants will also have the opportunity to gain exposure to the international practices of Philip Morris International.
In the coming months, Papastratos will announce the opening of applications for the next cycle of the program. Interested candidates can follow relevant announcements and stay informed about available opportunities through the company’s website at papastratosmazi.gr.
“The greatest investment we can make for the future is in young people”
Tina Davou, CEO of Papastratos, commented: “At Papastratos, we believe that the greatest investment we can make for the future is in young people. By welcoming the first interns of the FutuReady Greece program, we are taking another step toward realizing an initiative that aspires to create more learning, development, and employment opportunities for the next generation. An initiative we want to be meaningful and two-way — offering them the chance to learn and grow, while also giving us the opportunity to listen and learn through their perspective. I wish them a great start and a successful career.”
Maria Patakiouti, General Manager of People and Culture at Papastratos and Southeast Europe at Philip Morris International, stated: “A first professional experience can play a significant role in a young person’s journey. That is why we designed the FutuReady Internship Program so that participants don’t simply observe the daily life of a company — they become part of it. They work on real projects, collaborate with different teams, have people by their side to guide them, and at the same time have the space to bring their own ideas and their own perspective.”
