An acquisition agreement for a portfolio of four operational wind farms with a total capacity of 150 MW from EDP Renováveis (EDPR) in Greece has been signed by Principia. The estimated value of the transaction amounts to over 200 million euros, while Principia’s shareholders include Enel SpA and funds managed by Macquarie Asset Management.

The portfolio includes four wind projects that operate under 20-year Contracts for Difference (CfD). With the addition of the 150 MW, Principia’s total installed renewable energy capacity now reaches 727 MW.

Aristotelis Chantavas, CEO of Principia, stated: “The acquisition of this portfolio strategically strengthens Principia’s presence in the Greek renewable energy market. It also confirms our pivotal role in the country’s energy transition, in a constantly evolving environment.”
“With this strategic investment, we further strengthen our position in the Greek clean energy market and take another significant step toward achieving our ambitious plan for development, diversification and reliable clean energy production in Greece,” he added.
The acquisition process is expected to be completed within 2025 and is subject to certain conditions typical for such transactions, including approval from the relevant Competition Commission.
