OTE stands out for the 17th consecutive year, as it is included in the international FTSE4Good index series, following evaluation by FTSE Russell. Its overall performance in ESG sectors improved, reaching 4.5/5, with significant progress especially in the “Society” category. The FTSE4Good Emerging index, managed by FTSE Russell, now includes 870 listed companies with strong practices in Environment, Society and Governance, as evaluated in June 2025.
OTE retains FTSE4Good index position for 17th year with high ESG performance
OTE’s retention in the FTSE4Good Emerging index demonstrates the Group’s consistency and progress in integrating ESG practices into its activities. FTSE Russell’s evaluations are based on performance in areas such as corporate governance, health and safety, anti-corruption measures and climate change. The evaluation results from FTSE Russell for companies that successfully joined the index are communicated to international investors, who incorporate environmental, social and governance assessments into key benchmark indices.
The commitments and actions of the OTE Group continue to deliver significant results, such as the total social contribution, which in 2024 exceeded €2.6 million and benefited 1.1 million people. Similarly, for environmental protection, it responsibly manages 100% of waste generated from technology and communication services provision and has reduced greenhouse gas emissions from its operations by 83% (2017-2024). The OTE Group contributes to achieving the Telekom Group’s goals for climate neutrality by 2025 from its operations and by 2040 from the entire value chain.
OTE participates in a series of sustainable development indices such as: “Prime” Corporate ESG Performance at ISS-ESG, MSCI ESG Research, at CDP for Climate Change issues and in the Athens Stock Exchange ATHEX ESG index.
