A new era begins for the Greek pharmaceutical industry, as DEMO inaugurates the first Bio-Academy in the country. This is the first educational program in Greece that combines theoretical training with practical application in the rapidly developing field of biotechnology, aiming to substantially strengthen participants’ skills and scientific knowledge.
DEMO innovates with Greece’s first bio-academy
Specifically, Greek and foreign scientists and highly specialized executives from DEMO’s Biotechnology Center will undertake the transfer of knowledge to young scientists, up to 29 years old, graduates or postgraduate/doctoral students in related scientific fields. Konstantinos Kotsifis, HR Director of DEMO ABEE, stated: “The Bio-Academy represents a long-term project for us. Our goal is, through our business operations, to provide the right tools to tomorrow’s scientists. Thus, we are not simply creating the environment where our country’s young people can flourish, but we are also taking an important step towards limiting brain drain at the expense of our country’s collective scientific knowledge. DEMO’s first Bio-Academy is also the first in Greece. We understand the responsibility we bear and consider it our non-negotiable duty to ensure that in a rapidly developing international job market, young scientists will meet the challenges of the pharmaceutical biotechnology sector.” The program will be implemented at DEMO’s state-of-the-art Biotechnology facilities in Agios Stefanos, Attica. Participants will have the opportunity to receive relevant certification. The application submission process begins on Monday, July 21, 2025, and is completed on September 26, 2025.
