Having completed 3 decades in leadership of TERNA ENERGY, Manolis Maragoudakis is completing his tenure. During these years, the company established itself as a leading force in the domestic renewable energy market, while simultaneously developing international activities, with emphasis on European markets.
TERNA ENERGY: Aristotelis Chantavas appointed new CEO
The position of Chief Executive Officer will be assumed from March 30th by Aristotelis Chantavas, previously Head of Europe at Enel Green Power. The transition process has already been implemented, aiming to ensure continuity and smooth transfer of responsibilities.
Mr. Maragoudakis played a decisive role in the development of TERNA ENERGY, serving as Chief Executive Officer from its establishment in 1997 until today. Under his guidance, the company acquired deep expertise across the entire lifecycle of energy projects, from design and licensing to construction and long-term operation.
During the thirty years of his leadership, TERNA ENERGY implemented projects of national significance, contributing to the formation of technical and investment standards that became benchmarks for the industry. The pumped storage facility in Amfilochia, the most significant energy storage infrastructure under construction in the country, the wind farms of Kafirefs, among the largest wind complexes in Greece, as well as the project in Agios Georgios, a demanding venture that introduced innovative construction methods, are characteristic examples of this journey. The scale and complexity of these investments prove in practice its technical adequacy and ability to design and implement complex large-scale energy infrastructures.
TERNA ENERGY: Regional development pillar of Masdar for Greece and Eastern Europe
In 2025, the acquisition of the company by Masdar, one of the world’s leading groups in the clean energy sector, was completed. In this new framework, TERNA ENERGY, as Masdar’s regional development pillar for Greece and the broader Eastern Europe region, sets as a strategic goal the creation of an operational project portfolio of 6 GW capacity by 2030. This goal will be achieved by leveraging the group’s financial strength and international expertise.
The duties of Chief Executive Officer are assumed by Mr. Aristotelis Chantavas, an executive with extensive international experience in the renewable energy sector and strong presence in the European energy space. He has served as Head of Europe at Enel Green Power and President of SolarPower Europe, with an active role in shaping European initiatives for renewable energy development.

Mr. Chantavas’ assumption of the Chief Executive Officer position marks a new chapter for TERNA ENERGY, as he is expected to play a significant role in strengthening Masdar’s European portfolio, within the framework of the group’s goal to achieve 100 GW of global installed clean energy capacity by 2030.
