The heating allowance 2025 has attracted the interest of more than 550,000 citizens who have already submitted their applications through the digital platform myHeating. The deadline for submitting applications expires on December 5, while 50% of potential beneficiaries have already secured the financial assistance.
Heating allowance: 70% of applications are for heating oil subsidies
According to official data from AADE, 70% of submitted applications concern subsidies for heating oil. However, the state assistance covers a wide range of fuels and energy sources, including natural gas, LPG, firewood, biomass, district heating and electricity.
The amount of financial assistance ranges from 100 to 800 euros, with the possibility of extension up to 1,200 euros for areas with extremely low temperatures. The advance payment, which corresponds to 60% of last year’s amount, will be paid before the Christmas period.
Critical mistakes that prevent payment
Despite the simplified submission process, specific mistakes can lead to loss of the heating allowance. The most common problems faced by applicants include:
- Incorrect declaration of bank account in the spouse’s name instead of the actual beneficiary
- Wrong tax number on fuel purchase receipts, which creates problems in data cross-referencing
- Technical difficulties in semi-detached houses with shared meters or inconsistencies in supporting documents
- Applications from KOT beneficiaries for electric heating subsidy, which is not covered by the program
Solutions for correcting applications
To resolve problems with supporting documents, interested parties can revoke their application and submit a new one by December 5. Alternatively, there is the possibility of correcting the tax number by the retailer within 14 days of purchase.
KOT beneficiaries who wish to receive the heating allowance must declare an alternative fuel, such as heating oil, as electricity is not covered by the subsidy for this category of beneficiaries.
