Today, Monday, marks the culmination of the three-day commemoration events for the 52nd anniversary of the Polytechnic uprising. The Institution’s gates will reopen at 09:00 and close at 13:00, allowing the traditional march to begin. Due to the events, traffic restrictions and changes to Public Transport operations are already in effect until Tuesday, November 18 at 06:00.
Specifically, OASA has implemented temporary modifications to routes and/or relocation of departure points for bus lines and trolley lines on streets around the Polytechnic and throughout the city center, gradually and according to prevailing traffic conditions and directives and measures from the Greek Police.
Polytechnic: Traffic restrictions during celebrations – Metro stations closed from 14:00
Additionally, today Monday 17/11/2025, by order of the Greek Police, the Metro stations Syntagma, Evangelismos, Megaro Mousikis, Panepistimio and Omonia (Lines 1 & 2) will close at 14:00 and trains will pass through these stations without stopping. The stations will reopen with a new order from the Greek Police. Any additional changes will be implemented according to Greek Police directives and measures.

Today Monday 17/11/2025, the routes of bus line X95 SYNTAGMA – ATHENS AIRPORT (EXPRESS) will operate only to the “Katehaki” metro station.
Finally, Traffic Police will implement vehicle circulation interventions gradually and according to conditions.
Polytechnic anniversary: Which roads are closed
In detail, emergency traffic restrictions are in effect from Saturday (15/11) until Tuesday (18/11), in central Athens, due to the Polytechnic anniversary events.
Prohibition of stopping and parking, as well as interruption of vehicle circulation, which will be implemented gradually and according to prevailing traffic conditions, from 06:00 on Saturday 15-11-2025 until 06:00 on Tuesday 18-11-2025, as follows:
– Stournari, in the section between Exarchia Square and 3rd September Street.
– 28th October (Patision), in the section between Kodrigktonos and El. Venizelou (Panepistimou) Streets in both traffic directions, as well as its perpendicular streets up to the first parallel street.
– Tositsa pedestrian street.
– Polytechniou pedestrian street.
– Bouboulinas, in the section between Stournari Street and Alexandras Avenue.
– Tzortz, in the section between Stournari and Kapodistrou Streets.
– Botasi, in the section between Stournari and Kapodistrou Streets.
– Kanigos, in the section between Stournari and Chalkokondyli Streets.
– Solomou, in the section between 3rd September Street and Exarchia Square.
– Kapodistrou, in the section between Botasi and 3rd September Streets.
– Exarchia Square.

As emphasized by the Greek Police, the above traffic restrictions will be implemented gradually and according to prevailing traffic conditions.
Furthermore, according to a decision by “Road Transport S.A.”, modifications will be made to the routes and stops of public transport (Buses – Trolleys).
In parallel, the Attica Traffic Directorate has planned and will implement measures to facilitate traffic circulation in the wider central Athens area.
The Greek Police appeals to drivers from Saturday 15-11-2025 until Monday 17-11-2025, to avoid driving and parking their vehicles in the event areas, the march route and around the U.S. Embassy, as well as in the wider central area, both for their convenience and to prevent additional traffic problems.
