Residents are growing concerned over the appearance of a wolf that has been “taking walks” through areas of Attica, specifically in Petroupoli and Ano Liosia.
The incident was captured on video by Stavros Athanasios, president of the Greek Falconry Association, who reported that the footage was taken near a park.
It’s worth noting that wildlife experts emphasize that wolf appearances in urban centers are rare, however they urge citizens to remain cautious and avoid approaching the animal.
“The animal is hungry and dangerous”
“The animal is hungry and therefore dangerous to humans,” Mr. Athanasios told ANT1 television.
Finally, in a social media post he describes it as a “tragic and dangerous situation,” commenting that if adequate measures are not taken, “in a year from now when there won’t be a single deer left on Mount Parnitha, the wolves will reach as far as the ferry boats in Perama.”
