A 48-hour warning strike is underway from 6:00 AM today until 6:00 AM Friday, organized by the Athens Taxi Drivers’ Union (SATA). Additionally, as announced, drivers will hold a march today at 10:00 AM, starting from Spyrou Patsi Street.

Piracy – Transport Work Hijacking – Multinationals:

- Proper implementation of the digital platform for rental car contracts and creation of a registry for rental cars with drivers.
- The minimum charge for using rental cars with drivers should be set at €150 throughout the country and the minimum rental period should be three hours for the entire Greek territory”.
SATA president: “The ministry refuses to talk to us”
“For the past six years, the government has proceeded with legislative initiatives without discussing with us,” said SATA president Thymios Lyberopoulos characteristically, speaking to ERTnews. “Unfortunately, once again, under conditions of tragic anxiety that the sector faces today, the ministry refuses to talk to us. At this moment, a plan is unfolding to transfer the transport services that taxis provide to the entire private sector, to large car rental companies, to apps,” Mr. Lyberopoulos emphasized. “They discuss with an omertà of party officials who have established companies and condemn every strike the union organizes,” he concluded.
