The Hellenic Police have implemented enhanced measures across the country’s entire road network in anticipation of the October 28th celebration, aimed at ensuring safe and smooth movement of citizens as increased traffic is observed on national highways. According to data from Friday morning 24/10 to Sunday afternoon 26/10, over 200,000 vehicles exited Athens via the Athens-Corinth and Athens-Lamia national highways.

October 28th: Traffic police measures in detail
Traffic police measures include reinforced policing in areas with increased traffic, as well as at entrances and exits of major urban centers. Police presence is deployed at airports, ports and stations where increased passenger traffic is expected.
Police are placing particular emphasis on locations where traffic accidents frequently occur, with traffic police units conducting targeted checks for dangerous violations such as excessive speeding and driving under the influence of alcohol.
It should be noted that tomorrow, Tuesday October 28th, trucks over 3.5 tons are prohibited from circulating, as part of measures to ensure smooth traffic flow in view of the national anniversary.
