Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis attended the inauguration of the new building for the Peristeri regional branch of the Athens First Instance Court on Friday morning (17/10).
This particular building is one of four regional first instance courts being established and will now hear cases up to 250,000 euros, resulting in faster case resolution.
The prime minister was welcomed by Justice Minister Giorgos Floridis, Deputy Minister Ioannis Bougas, and Citizen Protection Minister Michalis Chrysochoidis.
“This is a positive experience that we all deserve to celebrate together and I think it’s the best proof that the work, the difficult work of justice reform, is being advanced with determination and persistence and always with trust in justice,” the prime minister said in his statements.
He explained that “questioning trust in justice can very easily become a self-fulfilling prophecy in the minds of citizens in this toxic environment.” “That’s why we must advance our work at the maximum possible speed so that citizens themselves can soon perceive the results of these reform efforts,” Kyriakos Mitsotakis emphasized in conclusion.
