Sean “Diddy” Combs has requested to serve his 50-month prison sentence at a low-security facility, stating he wants to participate in the rehabilitation program offered at FCI Fort Dix detention center in New Jersey.
Diddy seeks transfer to prison with rehab program
His legal team filed the request on Monday (October 6), designating this facility as his preferred choice. His lawyers explained in a letter that this facility is the best place for the rapper to “address drug abuse issues” and “maximize family visits and rehabilitation efforts.”
It’s worth noting that the judge will decide whether to accept Diddy’s request or send him to another prison.
Trump confirms Diddy requested presidential pardon
Meanwhile, in his statements, US President Donald Trump confirmed that the rapper, convicted on prostitution charges, requested a presidential pardon from him. As he characteristically stated in an Oval Office interview yesterday, Monday, according to ABC News: “Many people have asked me for pardons. I call him Puff Daddy, he has asked me for a pardon.” However, the US President did not reveal whether he intends to grant it.
