New details about the brutal murder of 41-year-old bodybuilder Walter de Vargas Aita by his 43-year-old wife Carvalho Aita in Brazil in early September are coming to light. According to local media reports, the 43-year-old woman who stabbed her partner 21 times with a kitchen knife to the head, torso, arms and legs during an argument, accused him of having an extramarital affair.

According to the same sources, Carvalho had been monitoring the 41-year-old since March, trying to find evidence of his infidelity. The 43-year-old had even gone so far as to drill holes in the walls of their apartment to spy on him, photographed him while he slept, and sent him threatening messages that often ended with knife emojis.
In voice messages, she threatened that he would “pay” for his alleged infidelity, while the bodybuilder said he couldn’t continue living under the threat of being stabbed. In the same messages, the 41-year-old said he planned to leave a letter blaming her for his death if something happened to him.
“She believed her husband was having sexual relations with other people for several months before the crime, and on more than one occasion, clearly expressed her desire to kill him because of this,” announced a police spokesperson.
For her part, Carvalho admitted to stabbing her husband three times but claimed it was in self-defense, saying the knife was in the bodybuilder’s hand at the beginning of the fight. However, these claims were refuted by police who announced that the 41-year-old was first stabbed in his sleep before attempting to escape from the apartment. The Brazilian bodybuilder had even been dragged down the stairs, leaving blood traces in the hallways. Witnesses also reported hearing him shout “My God, why are you doing this?” during the bloody episode on September 7th.
