A new era begins for pension payments in Greece, as the Ministry of Labor and e-EFKA introduce a unified payment system. Starting from October 2025, main and supplementary pensions will be credited simultaneously, ensuring greater predictability for pensioners. This innovative regulation affects all insurance organizations and aims to simplify procedures. Supplementary pensions for October 2025 will be paid alongside the corresponding main pensions, while the money will appear in bank accounts on the afternoon of the previous working day.
Pensions: Payment schedule for non-salaried workers
Non-salaried pensioners will receive their pensions on Thursday, September 25, 2025. This date affects a wide range of insurance organizations and covers a significant number of beneficiaries.
Specifically, the following payments will be made on the same date:
• OAEE: Pension payment on Thursday, September 25
• OGA: Benefit payment on the same date
• ETAA non-salaried: Pension credit on September 25
• EFKA retirees from 1.1.2017 (law 4387/2016): Unified payment
• Private sector supplementary pensions: Simultaneous payment
Payment dates for salaried pensioners
More than 1,700,000 salaried pensioners will see their pensions credited on Monday, September 29, 2025. This massive payment represents the largest category of beneficiaries and includes various sectors.
The organizations that will make payments on September 29 include IKA-ETAM, the Public Sector, temporary pensions for Armed Forces and Security Corps, as well as the Fire Service. Additionally, NAT, KEAN, ETAP-MME, ETAT, TSEAPGSO, TSP-ISAP, DEH and OTE will follow the same schedule.
Public sector supplementary pensions will also be paid on Monday, September 29, while OPEKA will proceed with payment of uninsured elderly pensions the following day, Tuesday, September 30, 2025.
Advantages of the new system
The unification of payment dates represents a significant improvement for pensioners, as it eliminates uncertainty and delays. The new system ensures stability and predictability, while simultaneously simplifying administrative procedures.
The coordinated approach between the Ministry of Labor and e-EFKA Administration reflects the commitment to improving services for pensioners. Beneficiaries can now better plan their financial obligations, knowing in advance the exact payment dates.
