A tragic incident occurred in Ithaca, when an 82-year-old woman was pulled unconscious from the sea waters near the port of Vathy. Paramedics attempted resuscitation efforts without success, and the elderly woman was rushed to the Ithaca Health Center. There, the death of the 82-year-old was confirmed.

The Ithaca Port Authority is conducting a preliminary investigation, while the body will be transferred to the Forensic Medicine Service of Patras for autopsy and post-mortem examination.
