Magda Fyssa and Yannis Mangos joined demonstrators in Elefsina for an anti-fascist march held in response to the attempted murder of a 32-year-old man, allegedly carried out by two young individuals — one of whom is believed to be a member of a neo-Nazi organization. Crowds took to the streets demanding that fascists be given “not one inch of ground”, as declared on banners held throughout the march. Protesters called for the complete isolation of neo-Nazi elements from Greek society.
Speaking to Open TV, Magda Fyssa — mother of Pavlos Fyssas, the anti-fascist rapper murdered by a Golden Dawn member in 2013 — stressed that 13 years after her son’s fatal stabbing, such attacks have not stopped. She emphasized that she feels it is her duty to be present at every such gathering. She also noted that the 32-year-old victim was fortunate to survive, adding: “We are not mourning another Pavlos.”
