The General Hospital of Elefsina “Thriasio” has issued an official statement regarding the condition of two men injured at the facilities of Motor Oil in Agioi Theodoroi earlier on Friday morning (09/10). The two members of a maintenance crew who were carrying out work at the company’s facilities were transferred to the hospital at approximately 2:00 p.m. According to the official statement, both men arrived already intubated and were immediately attended to by the hospital’s medical and nursing staff.

Tragically, one of the men succumbed to his injuries, with the official time of death recorded at 4:48 p.m. Regarding the condition of the second injured worker, the hospital’s statement notes that he has sustained severe traumatic brain injuries and is currently being treated in the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
“The Administration and staff of the General Hospital of Elefsina ‘Thriasio’ extend their sincere condolences to the family and loved ones of the deceased,” the official statement reads.

“Today, Friday, October 9, 2026, at approximately 2:00 p.m., two seriously injured individuals — members of a maintenance crew carrying out work at the Motor Oil company facilities — were transferred to the General Hospital of Elefsina ‘Thriasio’.
Both patients arrived already intubated and were immediately treated by the hospital’s medical and nursing staff, who carried out all appropriate medical procedures to address their condition.
Despite the efforts of the medical and nursing personnel, one of the two injured workers passed away at 4:48 p.m.
The second injured worker, who has sustained severe traumatic brain injuries, is currently being treated in the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
