A gradual improvement is expected in weather conditions across Greece, with the bad weather easing on Monday, October 5th, and continuing into Tuesday. However, this improvement is not expected to last long — according to meteorologist Sakis Arnautoglou’s forecast, conditions will deteriorate again later in the week, with new bouts of rain and thunderstorms expected across the country.

Weather forecast: Two days of improvement
Monday is expected to bring better weather conditions to most parts of Greece. A few lingering weather phenomena will persist over Crete and the Dodecanese islands, but these are expected to remain limited. By Tuesday, the improvement will be even more noticeable across a greater portion of the country, with no particularly extreme weather events anticipated. Only the island of Kastellorizo may see some isolated showers.
New weather shift from Wednesday onwards
According to Sakis Arnautoglou’s weather forecast, the pleasant conditions will be short-lived. From Wednesday evening (7/10), a new change in the weather pattern is expected to affect the western and northwestern parts of the country.
On Thursday (8/10), rainfall is forecast to intensify. Between October 9th and 10th, other regions of the country may also be negatively impacted by heavier rain. That said, this particular weather system is not expected to be long-lasting, forecasters emphasize.
Southerly winds and rising temperatures
Wind patterns will also shift during this period. Both Wednesday and Thursday will see winds over the Aegean weaken considerably, while southerly winds are expected to develop over western Greece. At the same time, humidity levels are forecast to rise, with the possibility of fog forming mainly in central and northern regions. Temperatures will remain relatively mild, reaching locally between 25 and 27 degrees Celsius on Wednesday and Thursday.
