Continuing her fierce criticism of European institutions — and shortly after attacking European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen over immigration and woke agenda policies — MEP and President of the Voice of Reason party, Afroditi Latinopoulou, told parapolitika.gr: “We Europeans, we taxpayers, have tolerated an open-borders policy, illegal immigration, an illegal invasion, and the Islamization of Europe.” At the same time, she leveled sharp criticism at the Greek government, calling it the most “woke government of all time,” and insisted: “We want Greece first, Greeks first. Our money should go to Greek families, to Greek children. We need secure borders — we cannot have every illegal migrant violating our borders, and we certainly should not be funding through our taxes, via NGOs and all these businesses set up for the population replacement that so many want — the Brussels elites, and here in Greece, Kyriakos Mitsotakis.”
Commenting on the rise of the AfD — Alternative for Germany — she noted: “It is something very hopeful, because all these years we Europeans, we taxpayers, have tolerated an open-borders policy, illegal immigration, an illegal invasion, and the Islamization of Europe. It is now self-evident that everyone wants a return to reason. People finally want their countries back — safe and secure — and they certainly do not want to pay from their taxes and their hard-earned savings to house, provide healthcare, benefits, and everything else for anyone who arrives from Pakistan or Afghanistan into Europe.”
Afroditi Latinopoulou: School textbooks are full of woke propaganda
Regarding the message sent by this political development, she emphasized: “We finally want our countries back. We want our country first. We want the same for Greece. Greece first, Greeks first. Our money should go to Greek families, to Greek children. We need secure borders — we cannot have every illegal migrant violating our borders, and we certainly should not be funding, through our taxes and via NGOs, all these businesses set up to facilitate the population replacement that so many desire — the Brussels elites, and here in Greece, Kyriakos Mitsotakis.”
On Vladimir Putin’s claim that Europe’s own stance brought about the rise of the AfD, she responded: “I personally agree. Regardless, I have my own view, and that view is what we have been voicing for so many years — that Europe must finally change its priorities. In recent years, unfortunately, the EU’s priorities have been paper straws, the gay agenda, gay pride events, and how to legalize and hand papers to every radical Islamist arriving from Pakistan, Afghanistan, or Somalia — essentially prioritizing Islam above all else. Instead of these priorities, the focus should have been on the economic prosperity of European states, and more broadly, every state should prioritize its own economic development, industrial growth, and primary sector. Those should have been our priorities — along with the Greek family and, of course, demographics.”
Shifting from European to Greek affairs and the woke agenda, the President of the Voice of Reason described the Mitsotakis government as the “most woke government of all time,” adding: “They voted in favor of same-sex marriage and adoption — something even the Tsipras government never did. And while they told us at the time that adoption would not be included, of course it was. Beyond that, if you look — and I have made relevant posts and statements on this — school textbooks are packed with woke propaganda, reflecting what Minister Michailidou advocates: that there are different types and forms of family. A family can apparently be three men and two women, and whatever else.”
“When you have done everything in favor of the woke agenda and have essentially served political correctness for all these years, enshrining it in law. When you introduce gender quotas on the boards of listed companies — for women and more broadly for the LGBTQ+ community and so on. When you have Minister Michailidou, instead of dealing with the demographic crisis, busy handing out woke diversity badges to businesses.”
Doubling down on her positions regarding the Roma community, she argued: “They are gypsies. Every day we are talking about dozens of incidents occurring in Greece as a result of the criminal activity of some among them. I have said many times that I have no intention of lumping them all together. There are those who are law-abiding and live perfectly fine, paying rent. Unfortunately, however, a huge portion of them engage in criminal activity — and they have now moved into electronic fraud, phone scams, and all manner of schemes on a massive scale, involving lists of millions, while the government continues to provide them with welfare benefits, even those who have criminal convictions. We say, therefore, that it is time to end the welfare policy for those who have been convicted. Children must be in a safe environment and not be married off as minors — so the state must intervene, with child welfare services and juvenile prosecutors taking on all these cases. And certainly, all of those who wish to do so can, by 2026, rent a home, pay their taxes, pay their electricity bills — rather than having the rest of us pay higher energy costs because some choose to steal electricity while simultaneously robbing us, committing theft, arms trafficking, drug trafficking, and still collecting government benefits. Enough is enough.”
