The two leaders also discussed the next steps in the implementation of the GSI project, following the agreement for the investment group Meridiam to enter as majority shareholder in the Great Sea Interconnector (GSI) company, which is originally designed to take over the development of the Greece-Cyprus electricity interconnection project.
The Prime Minister and the President of France also discussed Greek and French initiatives to ban children under the age of 15 from accessing social media platforms, prompted by the French President’s recent letter to the President of the European Commission calling for the enforcement of a similar ban across the entire European Union.
Kyriakos Mitsotakis also raised the issue of the impact of the ongoing crisis in the Strait of Hormuz on energy costs, and the need for initiatives to be taken at EU level.
