A 59-year-old man in Chania, Crete, has been remanded in custody on charges of child sexual abuse and possession of child pornography. According to a report by Flashnews.gr, the case came to light when a mother from Rethymno filed a complaint alleging that her 14-year-old daughter’s godfather had been sexually abusing the girl during the period she was staying at his home in Chania.
Preliminary investigations and the examination of the girl produced incriminating evidence, and the 59-year-old was subsequently arrested on the orders of the Rethymno investigating magistrate. Additionally, child pornography material was found in his possession.
