The final week of July kicks off with a noticeable rise in temperatures, as the weather takes on distinctly summer characteristics once again, following a brief cool spell in the preceding days. In northern Greece, transient cloud cover will develop from midday onwards, bringing localized rain showers, while isolated thunderstorms cannot be ruled out in mountainous areas. Across the rest of the country, conditions will remain generally sunny, with only brief spells of cloud over highland areas during the midday and afternoon hours.
At the same time, meteorological conditions are favorable for the transport of African dust into the atmosphere. Winds in the northern regions will blow from southerly directions at 3 to 5 Beaufort, while westerly winds of up to 6 Beaufort will prevail elsewhere.
Temperatures will climb further, reaching 35 to 37°C on the mainland and locally up to 38°C, while island temperatures will range between 33 and 35°C.
