According to information from ERTnews, the child slipped away from family supervision for just a few minutes before falling into the pool. When the incident was noticed, the child was pulled from the water unconscious, having suffered cardiac arrest, and was immediately transported to Kastoria General Hospital.
Doctors and nursing staff fought to save the child’s life, and after prolonged cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), they successfully revived the young patient.
Given the severity of the child’s condition, intubation was performed immediately. Subsequently, in coordination with EKAV (Greece’s national emergency medical service) and the relevant authorities, an emergency medical transfer to Thessaloniki was organized. The child is currently being treated in a pediatric ICU and is under close monitoring by attending physicians.
